Guest leader: Eugene Lee (Sun 27 March)

Born in South Korea, Eugene began studying the violin at age four. Moving to New Zealand in 1995, he made his debut with the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra at age 14 and subsequently performed with all the major orchestras of New Zealand.

After his postgraduate studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama with David Takeno, Eugene was invited to join Southbank Sinfonia where he continues to work frequently as mentor and Guest Leader.

He currently holds the position of Assistant Concertmaster at the Philharmonia Orchestra, and has performed extensively with all the major UK orchestras including London Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House and the Royal Philharmonic. As soloist and chamber musician, he has made appearances at the Wigmore and Purcell Room as well as Europe and Asia.
